There is no difference of opinion amongst the scholars with regards to covering/non-covering of the ankles. All the scholars, regardless of their different schools of thought and differences in many issues, have no difference of opinion in this regard. They all unanimously agree that the length of the lower garment, i.e. the trousers/pants/izars etc. should be above the ankles for men. Thus it is forbidden for men to cover their ankles with their lower garments i.e. trousers/pants/izars etc. There are several authentic Ahadith to substantiate this ruling.

Narrated Abu Huraira

Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said, “Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection, at a person who drags his Izar (behind him) out of pride and arrogance.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 7, Hadith no. 5788)

There may be few Muslims who tend to differ on the subject due to ignorance. They argue by saying ‘the Hadith says that anyone who drags the Izar out of pride and arrogance will be punished in the hereafter. Therefore we don’t drag the pants out of pride and arrogance’.

However, there are many Ahadith in which the Prophet has instructed in unambiguous words to wear the Izar above the ankles without mentioning the aspect of pride or arrogance. One of the Ahadith is as follows:

Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, “The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 7, Hadith no. 678)

In the Hadith quoted above, there is a general instruction to keep the trouser above the ankle, irrespective whether it is out of pride & arrogance or without pride & arrogance.

Moreover, can any human being claim to be as humble as the Prophet (pbuh)? Alhumdulillah, we Muslims believe that the Prophet (pbuh) was far more humble than anyone of us can ever be and he could never be as arrogant & proud as we can be at any given time. He was sent as a mercy (Al-Qur’an 21: 107) for all the creatures, yet he wore his lower garments above the ankles. Therefore we should obey the commandment of the Prophet (pbuh) in order to prosper in the hereafter. The Prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said:

“All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” They said, “O Allah’s Messenger! Who will refuse?” He said, “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it).” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 9, Hadith no. 384)

Thus, it is incumbent upon the Muslim men to wear the pants/trousers/izars above the ankles. And Allah knows the best.

                         This question is often hurled at Muslims, either directly or indirectly, during any discussion on religion or world affairs. Muslim stereotypes are perpetuated in every form of the media accompanied by gross misinformation about Islam and Muslims. In fact, such misinformation and false propaganda often leads to discrimination and acts of violence against Muslims. A case in point is the anti-Muslim campaign in the American media following the Oklahoma bomb blast, where the press was quick to declare a ‘Middle Eastern conspiracy’ behind the attack. The culprit was later identified as a soldier from the American Armed Forces.

Let us analyze this allegation of ‘fundamentalism’ and ‘terrorism’:

1.   Definition of the word ‘fundamentalist’

A fundamentalist is a person who follows and adheres to the fundamentals of the doctrine or theory he is following. For a person to be a good doctor, he should know, follow, and practise the fundamentals of medicine. In other words, he should be a fundamentalist in the field of medicine. For a person to be a good mathematician, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of mathematics. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of mathematics. For a person to be a good scientist, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of science. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of science.

2.   Not all ‘fundamentalists’ are the same

One cannot paint all fundamentalists with the same brush. One cannot categorize all fundamentalists as either good or bad. Such a categorization of any fund amentalist will depend upon the field or activity in which he is a fundamentalist. A fundamentalist robber or thief causes harm to society and is therefore undesirable. A fundamentalist doctor, on the other hand, benefits society and earns much respect.

3.   I am proud to be a Muslim fundamentalist

I am a fundamentalist Muslim who, by the grace of Allah, knows, follows and strives to practise the fundamentals of Islam. A true Muslim does not shy away from being a fundamentalist. I am proud to be a fundamentalist Muslim because, I know that the fundamentals of Islam are beneficial to humanity and the whole world. There is not a single fundamental of Islam that causes harm or is against the interests of the human race as a whole. Many people harbour misconceptions about Islam and consider several teachings of Islam to be unfair or improper. This is due to insufficient and incorrect knowledge of Islam. If one critically analyzes the teachings of Islam with an open mind, one cannot escape the fact that Islam is full of benefits both at the individual and collective levels.

4.   Dictionary meaning of the word ‘fundamentalist’

According to Webster’s dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ was a movement in American Protestanism that arose in the earlier part of the 20th century. It was a reaction to modernism, and stressed the infallibility of the Bible, not only in matters of faith and morals but also as a literal historical record. It stressed on belief in the Bible as the literal word of God. Thus fundamentalism was a word initially used for a group of Christians who believed that the Bible was the verbatim word of God without any errors and mistakes.

According to the Oxford dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ means ‘strict maintenance of ancient or fundamental doctrines of any religion, especially Islam’.

Today the moment a person uses the word fundamentalist he thinks of a Muslim who is a terrorist.

5.   Every Muslim should be a terrorist

Every Muslim should be a terrorist. A terrorist is a person who causes terror. The moment a robber sees a policeman he is terrified. A policeman is a terrorist for the robber. Similarly every Muslim should be a terrorist for the antisocial elements of society, such as thieves, dacoits and rapists. Whenever such an anti-social element sees a Muslim, he should be terrified. It is true that the word ‘terrorist’ is generally used for a person who causes terror among the common people. But a true Muslim should only be a terrorist to selective people i.e. anti-social elements, and not to the common innocent people. In fact a Muslim should be a source of peace for innocent people.

6.   Different labels given to the same individual for the same action, i.e. ‘terrorist’ and ‘patriot’

Before India achieved independence from British rule, some freedom fighters of India who did not subscribe to non-violence were labeled as terrorists by the British government. The same individuals have been lauded by Indians for the same activities and hailed as ‘patriots’. Thus two different labels have been given to the same people for the same set of actions. One is calling him a terrorist while the other is calling him a patriot. Those who believed that Britain had a right to rule over India called these people terrorists, while those who were of the view that Britain had no right to rule India called them patriots and freedom fighters.

It is therefore important that before a person is judged, he is given a fair hearing. Both sides of the argument should be heard, the situation should be analyzed, and the reason and the intention of the person should be taken into account, and then the person can be judged accordingly.

7.   Islam means peace

Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.

Thus every Muslim should be a fundamentalist i.e. he should follow the fundamentals of the Religion of Peace: Islam. He should be a terrorist only towards the antisocial elements in order to promote peace and justice in the society.

Normally, we never think about our Death. How, When & Where we will die? No Doubt, ALLAH (S.W.T)  knows the best!

But going to write about a accident, which occured on Main Shahrah-e-Faisal, on the road towards Airport from Metropoliton, very near to Baloch Colony Fly Over. I was returning from a Valima (Reception) Ceremony, with my elder brother, suddenly my brother said ‘Oh! car turned over’. I said ‘which one’ , he answered ‘car at the back’ , when I looked back, I didn’t see anything, except the headlights, it was looking as a car is standing in the middle of the road. I asked my brother to take the car back. When we reached nearer to that car (approx: 10 m away from the site), I ran towards the car. When I reached there, my heart was beating very fast. I saw a car Corolla Xli (model 2006) with the series of AKM-XXX, don’t remember the actual one, the reason why I looked at the number plate is that, when I looked at the car in the beginning I looked AK only, and I wanted to confrim that its not the car on which my parents were supposed to come. But by the Grace of Allah (S.W.T) it was AKM-XXX. The registration number of our car is AKC-XXX. That car was a Taxi, surely it shall be insured. That car was fully over turned, as it lower part was at the top, there were also many other people, who were helping. A man shouted ‘turn off the CNG valve’ and then a person hardly opened the door of the driver side to open the trunk, after opening the trunk a man closed the valve of CNG, after that they closed the trunk, and a group of people pushed the car from one side and I was also one of them MashALLAH. And the car came in its original position, bt not in its original shape. And than my brother called me ‘lets go, come on, lets move’. And then we returned to our home.

The driver of car safely came out from the car, without any injuries by the Grace of Allah (S.W.T).

In short, we even can’t guess what will be happened to us in next few moments…….\\

No.  Trust on LIFE

Its amazing, I am also just thinking about this that yesterday, I didn’t do anything whole the day, but inspite of this I couldn’t write my blog, just bcoz I didn’t get the time to write it.

Its a fact that sometimes we spend the time, and sometimes time spends us.

Its bcoz we can’t understand the implimentations of the time upon us. If we will catch out these implimentations, time can never play with us.

Today, the whole day is being spent very boring. The Problem of electricity is reached at the highest record.

Anyways, don’t let the time play with you, but spend it, in the way of your Lord Allah. The Day of Judgement is not much more far from you.  Your wrist watch can get stop, but the time of your life is running continously. Repent, repent  to your Allah. Before the victory of the time.

In the late night. its raining here in Karachi. sitting on my notepad, thinking for an intresting page for a visit, but not a single coming in my mind, thinking to have a cup of ovaltine, but don’t want to make it. Its true that “no Gain without Pain”. A man can get each and everything with the struggle and The Help of Thy Lord Allah (Subhana wa Taalaah), and “IF THIER IS WILL, THEIR IS WAY”.

If you will look around yourself, a hundred of people you will find, those are living for earning, and their are also thousands you’ll find those are earning for living.

In this world their are two types of people.

1. who do a single work in their all life.

2. who do all works in their single life.

Although, I am not in the age where I have to select which one I am. But I want to be from the 2nd one.

Anyways, Going to have a cup of ovaltine.

Makes me wonder….Do people change or is it just the perception of an individual towards another that changes? I have a gut feeling that people fundamentally remain what they are and who they are,natural instincts,habits remain a same. It is just the perception that changes with time….sometimes by so much that it makes you feel that person has changed…and sometimes it just sways for sometime and then you finally realise that the person still remains the same!
